Let’s start this discussion with some level setting about the Performance Turf Series. We have introduced a variety of products over the last couple of years as part of this series, and they’ve been incredibly popular. Why? Because they provide the greatest value option among our lines, they have very clean aesthetics, and are exceptionally easy to set up. Plus, their tee-in-turf construction lets you stick your own tees into the hitting surface. Lots of good reasons to like this series of products.
How It Compares to Other Fiberbuilt Hitting Surfaces
You’ll notice that the Performance Turf Series is our base level technology.
While it doesn’t have the extreme level of injury prevention or ridiculous durability of the Fiberbuilt Grass Series, or the industry-leading level of performance and feedback delivered with the Player Preferred Series, our Performance Turf is still a premium hitting surface and far exceeds what the rest of the industry delivers.
Technology
Fiberbuilt’s premium Performance Turf, constructed on a grippy rubber base layer, provides stability and comfort underfoot, whether it lays on our rubber base system (in Performance Turf Tee Boxes and Combo Mats) or is placed directly on the ground (in Hourglass Mats). Its dense pile is ideal for practice from a tight lie, and real tees stand up perfectly in the Performance Turf to practice any tee shot.

As with our other series, all Performance Turf Series products with rubber bases enjoy simple, modular construction of the base systems that deliver quick and tool-free assembly. While we keep the base pieces relatively lightweight thanks to our ribbed design, the bases are incredibly stable and non-slip.
Value
Here’s the thing… value is relative. While the Performance Turf Series is positioned as our value option, that’s just in comparison to our other hitting surfaces. The reality is that all our mats—Performance Turf Series included—are more premium than what’s offered in the rest of the industry. We’ll never be the “low cost leader”… we’re more like the Porsche of golf practice. Consider the Performance Turf Series to be the Boxster of hitting mats. Lower cost than our other options, but still absolutely awesome.
