The Motivation
The priority for the club was to install mats that are easy on their members' wrists and elbows in order to prevent injuries. They also liked the idea of having two different hitting surfaces for practicing hitting on different cuts of fairway and rough. Last, they preferred a component-based mat, as they wanted a solution with hitting strips that are easy to rotate as needed (to maximize the life of the component) and replace if needed in the long term. With these criteria, using Fiberbuilt Grass Series mats was a natural choice. As an additional benefit, they like the Adjustable Tees with Fiberbuilt Grass, so members have the option to tee it up or down.
The Impact
The Mat Systems are especially easy on your joints and hands as you stand on them and strike the balls with your Clubs. I really like how you can easily replace any of the worn components of the hitting systems as needed. Having the fairway cut height and the rough cut height to hit from provides great variety. The adjustable height on the tees is also great as some mats do not have this and it seems the height is always too high or too low.
