It’s always gratifying to learn that Fiberbuilt’s golf mats make a difference for players, whether it’s in giving them the most accurate simulation of real fairway turf for precise practice, helping players prevent injuries, or providing the most durable hitting surfaces available. But when a professional golfer notes how Fiberbuilt has had a positive impact on their play, it really stands out. Cody Blick, a top player on the Korn Ferry Tour, is one such player.
Cody reached out to us simply to say “thanks” after registering two consecutive second place finishes to start the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season.
“It’s no secret I’ve had some back and wrist injuries over the last couple of years”, said Cody. “The wrist injuries were constant and I wasn’t able to take divots without feeling pain. I began practicing on an indoor simulator that was fitted with a Fiberbuilt mat and I was able to get back to work. Slowly I began building up my reps again without pain. I was able to work on my technique and started to gain speed. Before long, I was back to normal and prepping for my Korn Ferry Tour season.”
We could not have been happier for Cody, and we’re proud to be a part of his current success. So proud, in fact, that we wanted to make him our newest brand ambassador. Given Cody’s extremely positive experience with Fiberbuilt’s mat (specifically, our Player Preferred Series Studio Mat), this seemed to everyone like an ideal and authentic pairing.
Fiberbuilt’s director of golf, Scott Nichol said, “Our approach is never to seek out potential brand ambassadors and then give them a mat as a result. We believe that the players who represent us best are the ones who have already had a great experience with our hitting surfaces and want to let everyone know about it because they love practicing on them. Cody is a perfect fit for us.”
The Player Preferred Series of mats that Cody trained with is specifically designed for better players, delivering the most accurate simulation of real fairway turf and the most precise launch monitor metrics available. Its Pure Impact Turf hitting surface is also engineered to deliver incredible feedback in both feel and sound at impact. And, as Cody discovered, it’s also very easy on the joints (as are all Fiberbuilt mats), helping to avoid the “turf shock” often experienced on other mats.
“I definitely owe my preparation time to Fiberbuilt because without their injury-friendly and grass-like mats, my golf game wouldn’t be where I am right now: 2nd on the Korn Ferry Tour points list.”
